My new single with Marie Chain, “Is This Really Love?” is available on all platforms worldwide as of today! Written and recorded remotely between Berlin and The Hague during the first lockdown, this song deals with the pressing question of “how do we find love during the digital age?” Our songwriting process mirrored the subject matter we were dealing with, as we wrote the song mainly over WhatsApp, Facetime, and Skype. Marie and I are incredibly proud of the final product and hope you love it as much as we do! Listen now on a platform of your choice at li.sten.to/isthisreallylove and stay tuned for the official video, coming this Sunday, 14 Feb!

It seems like April’s chugging along at a record pace, so you know what that means – May is just around the corner. And with it, Doro’s two epic anniversary shows at CCD Halle in Dusseldorf, Germany. Friday night, May 2, we’ll be playing alongside a full orchestra – I must say, I’m insanely excited for this – and Saturday night, May 3, we’ll be doing a full on rock show. Both nights include an amazing amount of surprises and special guests and will be filmed for a future DVD release. Also, I’m extremely happy to say that they will both be simulcast live on the internet as they happen, so that all our friends and fans around the world can join us on these two amazing nights. In other, equally exciting news, the new Earth Minor album is finally DONE! After almost four years of dreaming, scheming, and concocting, I’m so proud of what we’ve put together. There are a lot of very exciting things in process regarding this album, so it may take a little bit longer to reach your ears than previously expected, but trust me when I say, it will be worth your wait.
Hope Spring’s treating you well. I can’t wait to get back to Germany, France, Spain, The UK, and beyond next month. SEE YOU SOON, PLANET EARTH! – HY
I can’t wait to return to the beautiful SOMETHIN’ Jazz Club next Saturday night, March 1 with The Harrison Young Quartet. This is a rare opportunity to catch us right in Midtown NYC and I’m even more excited than usual about it because my musical brother, Daryl Anderson (of EBE), will be joining us on drums as a special guest for a few songs. All Ages Show. Doors @ 8:30. We hope to see you there! For more info, please visit www.somethinjazz.com/ny.
Well, I’m less than 24 hours home from another great tour with the Metal Queen, Doro, celebrating her 30th Anniversary in rock across Europe, this time with some of our favorite fans in Germany, The Netherlands, and Czech Republic. It was a quick one, only 7 shows, but each were unique and great and we want to thank you all for making us feel so at home while on the road.
I’m coming back to a lot of exciting things, personally and musically. The first of which is an almost entirely finished brand new Earth Minor album which I’ll be making some major announcements about soon. I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to, and I’m very happy to say that you’ll be able to hear it soon!
And also, I’m glad to have one final show booked this year on American soil before I take off with Doro again in December. The Harrison Young Quartet will make our triumphant return to the beautiful Hat City Kitchen in NJ on Saturday, November 23 at 8pm. Check out the shows page or http://www.hatcitykitchen.com for all the details. We hope to see you there!
Ok – time to get offline and back into the studio to continue mixing the new EM stuff. Talk to you soon and Happy Fall! -HY
After an amazing Summer and year playing shows and festivals all over the world with Doro, I am finally home. The memories I’ve made and experiences I’ve had this year are completely unparalleled in my life and I want to thank the entire Doro family for bringing me on such a wild ride. From Europe, to Russia, to all the incredible festivals, and of course, Wacken, I can’t even believe what I’ve just been a part of. I can’t wait to get back to it in October and beyond.
But for the time being, I’m very happy to be home in the US and setting my sights on some projects that have truly needed some love while I’ve been away. Mainly, I’m very happy to announce that I am finally back at work on the new Earth Minor album, which is significantly closer to being finished than I’d realized, so you can look for a release some time in early 2014.
